What may make me ineligible to receive treatment?
GLP-1 agonists, such as Semaglutide or Tirzepatide, are used for weight management and treating type 2 diabetes, but certain conditions may disqualify someone from receiving these treatments. Here’s a list of common contraindications:
- Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN2)
- Severe gastrointestinal disease, particularly gastroparesis
- History of pancreatitis (acute or chronic)
- Allergic reaction to GLP-1 agonists or any components of the medication
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Type 1 diabetes (since insulin is required)

Apex MD is a healthcare subscription service that provides our clients with access to high-quality practitioners with a focus in holistic care for endocrine conditions for a fixed monthly—price.
Who can use Apex MD?
Apex MD is open to everyone regardless of gender. To use Apex MD you must be:
- 18 years old or older.
- A resident or physically in one of the states that we provide services to.
- A demonstrated medical need for treatment. For some conditions (such as Hormone Therapy) this means recent lab results (if you need diagnostic lab work done, we can help).
What is the first step for a provider to determine my eligibility?
The first step is to complete a purchase of Semaglutide (injection or oral) or Tirzepatide. You will then be able to schedule with your provider (see “How does it work?” FAQ below) to determine if Apex MD is right for you! If your provider determines it is not right for you, you will be refunded for your purchase.
How does it work?
Apex MD is designed to be more than a telehealth platform, but still simple for our clients. You can start treatment in three easy-steps.
- Complete a medical intake and (if necessary) have lab work done to verify a medical need for treatment.
- Speak to your new healthcare provider through a telehealth (audio-visual) appointment.
- If medically appropriate, receive your medication in the mail every 30—days, or 60-days, or 90-days from a mail order pharmacy provider (depending on your provider’s decision).
We want to enable you to form a long-term connection with your provider so that they can provide ongoing care for your specific condition. With that in mind, Apex MD is designed for patients seeking long—term care.
